less stress, more me-time

LESS STRESS, MORE ME TIME

Since we are currently still more tied to the house and apartment, we can at least take more care of ourselves again!

There are of course lots of tips and ideas for a little more me-time -

but these are some of my personal favorites.

SHOWER POWER

My daily "good mood power scent", which I treat myself to in the shower in the morning, calms me down, puts me in a good mood and clears my head. This mix is my absolute favorite for waking up in the morning

Lavender relaxes and soothes, sweet orange is the mood and good mood maker and eucalyptus refreshes and clears the head. You can simply drip these oils onto a washcloth and place it under the water jet in the shower - pure aromatherapy when the hot water hits it!

  • 3 drops of lavender
  • 3 drops of sweet orange
  • 2 drops of eucalyptus

(Recipe for a shower, so to speak)

Relax and pamper yourself a little - it doesn't have to be complicated!

GRATITUDE EXERCISE

It sounds completely banal at first, but this little exercise is really something! All you have to do is write down three things every morning - first thing in the world - that you are grateful for here and now. And definitely before you pick up your cell phone and look at the Instafeed, i.e. before you get distracted. Maybe you also create a WhatsApp group with a few close friends and you arrange to meet for the next 30 days just for this purpose to do this exercise together. Everyone simply posts three things to the group - done!

But: Whether alone or in a group, you have to think of three NEW things every day that you are personally grateful for. This changes your perspective and the start of the day feels much better. Positive vibes only!

NETFLIX & CHILL

Stay in bed all Sunday or go to bed very early with one of mine

Favorite series - that's also part of Me-time for me.

My favorites:

HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER

(I only discovered this year and so I watched seven seasons in one go)

BILLIONS (waiting for the sequel)

A MILLION LITTLE THINGS (LOVE!)

LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE

(Binge watching at it's best!)

THE UNDOING (almost better than the book)

THE YOUNG POPE (so so good!)

and

BRIDGERTON (if that's even a tip, because we almost all lusted after the Duke of Hastings a bit :)

MOVEMENT

If there's one thing I'm grateful to the Corona virus for, it's the seemingly endless possibilities of online variants of yoga, barre, Pilates & Co.

There are so many great offers, but I would like to show you THE CLASS from NYC because the workouts from Taryn Toomey and her team always inspire me.

The slightly different training moved me so much, mentally and physically, that I cried the first time.

Not embarrassing tears, but very liberating crying, the tears fell naturally, like sweat. I had never experienced that before and I have been a huge fan of THE CLASS ever since.

Gwyneth Paltrow is a fan, others thought it was crazy - opinions differ greatly - so please just take a look (there is a 14-day free trial) and decide for yourself whether you belong to team LOVE or HATE - I'm excited!

LAST NOT LEAST: A DIY BEAUTY RECIPE

I love this homemade body scrub with natural ingredients - just raid the kitchen cupboard, mix it up, done!

You need:

  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 4 drops of cedarwood (essential oil)
  • 4 drops of ylang ylang (essential oil)
  • a large tablespoon of almond, argan or olive oil.

Simply mix everything together in a small bowl and massage in circular movements onto slightly damp skin in the shower. Shower thoroughly and dry off. Wonderful, right?
