Ingredients:

  • 1 piece of fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm), cut into thin slices
  • 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric root, thinly sliced ​​(or 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 liter of water
  • Optional: A pinch of black pepper (which improves the absorption of curcumin in turmeric)

    Steps:

    1. Place the ginger and turmeric slices and the cinnamon stick in a carafe or large glass.
    2. Add water and stir the ingredients gently.
    3. Cover the carafe or glass and let the infused water steep in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours, or even better overnight, to fully release the flavor of the spices.
    4. Before serving, stir the infused water well and add ice if desired.
