Ingredients:
- 1 piece of fresh ginger (approx. 2 cm), cut into thin slices
- 1 teaspoon fresh turmeric root, thinly sliced (or 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 liter of water
- Optional: A pinch of black pepper (which improves the absorption of curcumin in turmeric)
Steps:
- Place the ginger and turmeric slices and the cinnamon stick in a carafe or large glass.
- Add water and stir the ingredients gently.
- Cover the carafe or glass and let the infused water steep in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours, or even better overnight, to fully release the flavor of the spices.
- Before serving, stir the infused water well and add ice if desired.
Infused water, also known as flavored water, is a refreshing and healthy way to infuse water with natural flavors.
